Florida Town Recognized for Green Building Endeavors

Florida Town Recognized for Green Building EndeavorsBoynton Beach recently received national recognition for its green building efforts, winning the title of “Multi-Family Project of the Year” for its Seabourn Cove apartment complex. The award, part of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Green Awards, was presented in recognition of Seabourn Cove’s contribution to “Greening the American Dream”. The 23-acre Seabourn Cove complex, with 456 units, is the one of the largest multifamily projects to receive that title; it is also the first in the U.S. to achieve gold level in the Home Innovation NGBS Green Certification Program. 600 Brickell First LEED Platinum-Certified Building in FloridaThe U.S. Green Building Council has awarded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Platinum certification to developer Foram Group for their building at Brickell World Plaza, making 600 Brickell the First LEED Platinum-Certified Building in South Florida. The 600,000-square-foot 40-story building sets a new international standard for sustainability and connectivity in office development. Designed by the global architecture group RTKL, the mixed-use commercial tower in the heart of Miami’s financial district was awarded LEED Platinum designation in the core and shell category, specific to new construction.
